Written by a man not going to the races not having had a Rons breakfast and suffering from an attack of the Chinese laundry blues .

Prior to todays game the house was used as a changing room for the cricket team who having dined at Rons Café,changed into their suits for a day out at the races and a laundry by Joe(legohead) Pollard who rolled up with 4 bags of washing. With the house smelling of cooking breakfasts and the washing machine on full blast this put me in mind of that George Formby song " chinese laundry blues" who in the 1930s and 40s was the most banned performer by the BBC for lines like this, when singing of Mr Wu,"he has a naughty eye that flickers, you should see it wobble when he's ironing ladies blouses ." and he still holds the record for the most banned performer.
Today a County Cup fixture with Market Harborough RFC being the visitors, they had previously beaten Belgrave in a hard fought league encounter on 21st October last.
The match official for the day Mr Simon Hincks of The Leicestershire Society. On the kick off Belgrave defended the clubhouse end with a new formation Ashley Williams coming in at full back and Kevin(bungle)Curtis moving to the backs. On 8 minutes a long run from his own half by Jack Kyle drew in the defence and set up Kevin Curtis to score. After 18 minutes Harborough attacked through their backs and Harvey Slade crossed the line to score.
Belgrave continued to keep the pressure on Harborough pinning them inside their 22 on 25 minutes Belgrave won a lineout and after several rucks Liam Barnes scored.A penalty by Callum Blair saw the score all square at 10 points all with the first half drawing to a close.Trapped inside their own 5 yard line Harborough put up a stout defence, but a scrum saw the ball come out on the Belgrave side and Kevin Curtis went on a run and side stepping several defenders scored under the posts. He went onto convert the try.Halftime saw the score 17 points to 10 in Belgraves favour.
Famous people at the ground Patrick(the Viking warrior)Thomson recovering from his injury last week the operation went well, on crutches and limping well.He should be fit to return after Xmas.He was with his minder Jessica Horsnell from the Essex side of the Horsnell family.
The second half saw the game mainly played on the halfway line with neither team able to dominate. Both sides traded penalties, the score stood at 20 points to 13 in Belgraves favour.Harborough went onto the attack and put the Belgrave line under pressure.A massive clearing kick by Sean(quickthinking)Kyle from inside his own half saw the ball find touch inside the Harborough 22 yard line.
The Belgrave forwards stole the lineout and Harborough were pinned inside their own 22,Belgraves forwards drove home their advantage and following a scrum the ball came to Kevin Curtis who scored his third try of the afternoon.Final score Belgrave 27 Market Harborough 13 and Belgrave through to the next round of the County Cup.
A quiet evening in the Tom Hoskins, with none of the usual suspects, not even a sign of the dreaded Austin Brothers, who are no doubt up to no good somewhere or other.
Next week another home fixture followed by the social event of the year Dave Towls 40th birthday, there will be much merry making, drinking and dancing (not by Patrick Thomson).Never mind Patrick you can do the drinking bit.
On arrival back home washing machine still on the go,washing everywhere, come back Mr Wu all is forgiven.See you next week.
