Written by a man in search of Drew Grahams stolen boots,a bottle of port and a needle and thread.

Todays match report starts on Friday night in the Tom Hoskins, where myself, the dreaded Austin brothers and Tom(statto)Hunter plotted to bring down civilisation as we know it.But we never finished the Austins have to be home by 10pm.
Today a home fixture against Stamford RFC as well as the annual xmas lunch,110 sat down to an excellent turkey lunch,as in other years "O'come all ye faithful" was sung as the pudding was marched in,your getting better, pencilled in for Saint Pauls Cathedral next year.
The usual suspects win again Louis Summers the loudest xmas suit and John Goddard for the most garish braces and tie, must remember to wear dark glasses next year.Match official for the day Mr Peter Bower a man of care and compassion,he asked how my sprained ankle was.On the mend thank you Peter.
On the kick off Belgrave attacked the clubhouse end and got off to a flying start a strong run by Drew(doghouse)Graham in his new £75 boots brought the backs into play.A long wayward pass on the 22 looked destined to go into touch, but guess who was in the right place at the right time again to pluck the ball out of the air and score in the corner Niall(right place, right time)O'Connor. To whom it may concern Scotland Yard have been called about the theft of Drews boots from his van and can you clean them before you bring them back.
Belgrave continued to attack and a quick tap penalty by Sean(quick thinking)Kyle and lay off to Kirk(I've not got the legs)Harpin saw him score under the posts taking several defenders with him.A period of stalemate then ensued with the game taking place in midfield, neither side able to dominate.A Stamford attack inside the Belgrave 22,number 7 Cameron Park crashed over to put points on the board.
A sustained period of pressure on the Stamford line,a yellow card for James(chink)Dolan,a try by Jack Kyle only to be brought back for a penalty to Belgrave as he had a foot in touch. From the tap penalty Jamie(the cobra)Crumbie crossed the line but was ruled held up.Half time Belgrave lead by 12 points to 5.
The second half saw Belgrave began to dominate Joe(lego head)Pollard coming off the bench went on several long runs beating defenders and drawing in the defence to set up Kevin(bungle) Curtis for a brace of tries. In his new £75 boots Drew Graham was racking up the yards.he set up Sean Kyle, who did a reverse pass behind his back to put Kirk Harpin over for his second try of the game.
A yellow card for Jamie Crumbie, from the ensuing penalty on the Belgrave 22 Robbie Smith took a tap went on a jinking run and dived in at the corner to score.
With the clock running down the Belgrave forwards who had been dominant all game won yet another scrum, the ball was put into the backs for Kevin Curtis to make 20 yards and score his hat trick try.Final score Belgrave 36 Stamford 10.
The usual xmas fun and frolics after the game, along with loud outfits,I don't know which was the loudest the outfits or the music.
For anyone whose interested I do have the name of Sean and Jack Kyles tailor.
For the record Patrick(the big Viking)Thomson has told me to tell you that in the last 2 games he has nearly scored twice, there you go Patrick praise for an unsung hero.
On the downside from Lewis Austin there was no port after the lunch and his xmas jumper was ripped on the sleeve. He had to use a safety pin, thoughtfully provided by James Bamber. For the record this jumper cost £10 from a well known retailer.I would not want to be there on Monday morning when he takes it back.
The club house is open from 12.30ish on Xmas Eve till 6.30ish for any that wish to attend.I myself will not be going as I will be making a bowl of gruel and saying "Bah humbug" a lot
So that's it for 2016 from all at BRFC have a happy xmas and a prosperous new year, next home game January 7th 2017 Luton at home.Just off now to the Cratchit household to have a word with that Tiny Tim he has a lot to answer for.
