Written by a man seeing stars and not going to Magaluf along with Mark Austin.

The springtime update for Belgrave supporters all around the world. The Austin brothers are still in Russia,Joan Murphy still spreading the word in Florida as is Bod in Essex. The Earl family and Mark Burgess scouting for players in New Zealand and Dave Walton still has his hands in his pockets in Leicester.
For the first fixture of Springtime 2017 Belgrave travelled to Olney RFC founded in 1877,even earlier than Belgrave who were founded in 1883 a lot of water has gone under the bridge since then.A steady drive to the ground with Joe(legohead)Pollard not related to Michael J,who starred in Bonnie and Clyde.
The match official for the day Mr Nigel Boot-Handford a programme director for an IT company whose name dates back to the 1690s when the Boots and Handfords got together.
On arrival at the ground I noticed Kirk Harpin has a new dodgy haircut when asked who did it and we would sort them out for him,it turned out to his mum Tracey so we will leave it at that.I also teamed up with Olneys match reporter Jim Ford not related to John the famous film director.
On the kick off Belgrave attacked the cricket ground end and were playing against the wind.Belgrave took the attack to Olney, led by Jamie(the cobra)Crumbie with his strong running and fearsome tackles.Belgrave did everything but score, credit to Olney for outstanding defence, when they did mount an attack,Belgrave held them at the halfway line.
Halftime saw the score at 0 to 0.On comparing notes Jim Ford and I had about enough words in total for the government bill to trigger article 50 to leave the EU and that's not many.
The second half saw Olney take the game to Belgrave and pinned them inside their 22 with their forwards taking the intiative,Belgrave were unable to break out as they were starved of the ball. The pressure eventually told and Brandon Kerr, not related to Deborah scored in the corner, although it must be added his footwork was not far behind hers.
A yellow card for Joe Pollard saw Belgrave down to 14 players, they struck back with a penalty by Kevin(bungle)Curtis not related to Jamie -Lee,but most of the players wished he was. With Belgrave now back to 15 plavers they started to come back into the game.
They went back to 14 a yellow card for Elliot Walker not related to Clint Walker a star of the 60s.Olney again pinned Belgrave on their 5 yard line and following a scrum Will Edwards burst through and crossed the line. The score now being 10 points to 3 in favour of Olney and time running out.
Belgrave mounted a final offensive and the ball came to Niall(right place right time)O'Connor as in the report photo not related to Des who made 20 yards down the wing to score. The problem being Niall was in the right place at the right time, but the touch line was in the wrong place and his foot touched the line 5 yards short. What might have been..Full time saw an Olney win by 10 points to 3 and Belgrave picking up a losing bonus point.
To sum up the journey back it rained a lot as in singing in the rain.A quiet evening in The Tom Hoskins not related to Bob where Belgraves forthcoming trip to The Magaluf 7s was the topic of conversation.I know we have not been the best of friends with Spain in the past but do they deserve this.
Next week a home fixture with Oundle RFC with a 3pm kick off, hope to see you there.Just off home now to read Film Fun and The MGM story for next weeks star studied match report.
