Written by a man looking for a hand dryer,a first aid kit and some new nick names

News update from LE4,Lewis Austin is now known as "wet legs" following his trip to Twickenham, spilling his pint on his jeans and trying to dry them in the gents on the hot air dryer.Thats his story and he's sticking to it.A sprained ankle for Tom(statto)Hunter and Belgrave having more injured players watching the game than they have on the pitch.
Match day visitors for todays game Rushden and Higham RFC,the match day official Mr Peter Bower,a resident of Coalville, who owns a furniture company,no sitting down on the job today Peter.
On the kick off Belgrave defended the clubhouse end on their first attack Connor(half moon)Jackson crossed the line, followed by a second score for Lee(swinny)Swinden.
There then followed a heated debate between both teams resulting in a yellow card for an away team player.More debate and differences of opinion followed, resulting in 2 red cards one for a Rushden player and one for Nathan(wacko)Wells. Both teams now down to 14 players. It was at this point a game of rugby broke out.
A 40 yard interpassing run between Ashley Clarke and Jack Kyle resulted in Jack scoring under the posts.Brad(skanky legs)Jones then ran from is own half, out paced the defence, wrong footed the last defender and scored in the corner.Blame your mates for the nick name Brad,I think you know who they are.
Luck again on Belgraves side Tom Knifton tried to kick a bouncing ball, which hit him on the knee,he caught it and duly scored.Rushden mounted an attack and Jacob Matthews put points on the board for Rushden.Halftime saw Belgrave ahead by 31 points to 7.I noted the return of Ian(bean)Hawse to Belgrave following his stay in hospital and looking good.
The second half was mostly played around the half way line with no team able to dominate,a scrum inside the Belgrave 22 saw Drew(doghouse)Graham run from the rear of the scrum and shaking off defenders make 80 yards to score. The first aid kit may well be needed.
Rushden struck back with a try by Rob Morgan, duly converted by Chris Jackson. In the closing minutes there were scores for Ashley Clarke and Jack(splatt)Warren for Belgrave plus Kevin(bungle)Curtis added 8 points with boot.Final score Belgrave 48 Rushden and Higham 14.Full credit who gave their all right to the end.
The final fixture of the season next week when Leicester Vipers will be the visitors, plus it is also the Presidents lunch,I believe there are still some places left contact Bob Kyle,Bruce or Cliff if you want to book place.I myself will not be there next week cricket calls a visit to Leicester Banks on the cards unless it rains.Joe(legohead)Pollard will be the reporter on the spot.
A noisy evening in the Tom Hoskins with the usual suspects and shady characters following the Leicester City game. The Austin family, the Harris family,Sam Flanagan,Callum(wheres me boots)Hollis aka Cheese and Sam Chambers to name but a few.
I hope nobody notices the hand dryers missing from the gents toilets.See you next season
