Written by a man looking to the sky for arrows and fermenting revolution in le4

Today October 14th,Market Bosworth RFC were visitors to Belgrave.October 14th a date that changed the way we live up to the present day.The Battle of Hastings was fought on this day and the Russian Revolution started 100 years ago this month,a rather large country that gave the world the author Leo Toadstool and scientist Albert Epstein who went onto manage the Beatles. That should be enough to keep you going Moony.Prior to the game 90 people sat down to the sponsors lunch and guess what, the caterers van was blocked in again,I bet that never happened at The Battle of Hastings.
The match official for the day Mr Charles Yeomanson,a director of information technology, from Leek Wooton in Warwickshire.
On the kick off Belgrave defended the clubhouse end, after 5 minutes Sean(quick thinking)Kyle gathered the ball from the rear of a ruck and made 10 yards to cross the line.Belgrave continued to pressure the Bosworth defence and put the ball through the backs, newcomer number 6 Peter(the pastor)Petra came into the line, outpaced the defence and scored behind the posts. The Belgrave attack was now running wild and free,a jinking run by Sean Kyle from his own half set up Kevin(bungle)Curtis to cross the line untouched.
Belgrave continued to attack and a wayward pass was plucked out of the air by a leaping Dan Palmer not unlike the Russian ballet dancer Rudolph Near Enough,Dan saw his chance of glory and made 20 yards to score. With 32 minute gone Belgrave were in front by 24 points to nil and had gained a 4 try bonus point.Bosworths kicker Richard Harris put 3 points on the board with a penalty.
The first half now drawing to a close a Belgrave attack from the halfway line saw Tom Knifton make ground to score under the posts,Kevin Curtis converted. At the half Belgrave led by 31 points to Bosworths 3.
Famous people at the ground Jack Williams,Kudzi Makurumure and Simon Hamments from "Rugby Nats" who are travelling the country visiting various clubs.Brave men they interviewed Fishcake, myself and various other onlookers.Take some advice lads and get Kudzi a clapper board,Alfred Hitchcock never left home without one.All the best with your project.
The start of the second half was much like the first, the Belgrave forwards led by Patrick(the Viking warrior)Thomson drove a scrum from the Bosworth 22 for Tom Knifton to drop on the ball.
At this point Market Bosworth came into the game and pinned Belgrave inside their own 22 yard line.Following a scrum Guy Goodman picked up the ball and dived over to score. For 15 minutes the game was played within 5 yards of the Belgrave line with this constant pressure there were scores for Joe Stock and Ricky Wickwar.
With the game clock running down Market Bosworth went in search of a fourth try and a losing bonus point,Belgraves defence held,at the final whistle Belgrave 38 Market Bosworth 22 .
Beers and chilli after the game, men of the match Dan Palmer,Peter Petra and Craig(Moony)Jackson.professor of history at Beaumont Leys University.
A walk down the Tom Hoskins keeping a sharp lookout for arrows falling from the sky, beer and conversation with the usual suspects, messrs Peake,Hunter,Austin senior and Flanagan.
Three blokes came in said they were Lenin,Stalin and Trotsky looking to start a revolution,we told them to make themselves scarce before the dreaded Austin brothers come in and sort them out. They were last seen booking tickets for Moscow and the rest is history.
Next week an away fixture at Market Harborough see you there.Problem on the way home, how do you get passed a shield wall on Abbey Lane.
