Written by a man with a wounded knee, with his hands in his pockets, but returned with a red book and a Field Marshal.

Before leaving home for todays home fixture against Oadby/Wyggs I decided to watch Leicester City play Stoke in the early kick off.But I noted Gordon Banks was not playing for the City and Stanley Matthews not playing for Stoke so I never bothered.
With all this problem at Westminster with knees being touched and ministers resigning I made my way to the ground with my hands in pockets lest I be accused. This is not to be confused with the Battle of Wounded Knee in 1890,the last battle between the USA and the Native Indians. The Indians lost again.
The match official for the day Mr John Hill, hon sec of the referees society. On the kick off Belgrave attacked the clubhouse end.The first 20 minutes were very scrappy with neither side able to dominate or put together any decent attacks. The stalemate was broken by number 9 Jack Elliot who slotted over a penalty from 30 yards out to give Oadby/Wyggs a 3 point lead. They went further ahead when Bryn Bolton-Waugh crossed the line.Belgrave put 3 points on the board through the boot of Kevin(bungle)Curtis. At halftime the score stood at Oadby/Wyggs 8 Belgrave 3.
Famous people at the ground, and on her first outing into the big wide world at Belgrave,2 week old Hannah Towl who weighed in at 5lbs 15ounces daughter of Luke and Kelly. The first of many more visits I think.I myself was then presented with a red book by Mr and Mrs Redfern,no not this your life but the memoirs of Field Marshal Montgomery.I will get stuck into it tonight, lots of material for the match reports I think, prepare to be bored.Monty never smoked, was tee total, went to bed at 10 every night and got up at 6.But a good man to have on your side when you were in a tight corner.
The second half started much as the first had been, Kevin Curtis scored another 3 points with a penalty putting Belgrave within 2 points.Belgrave then went into meltdown for the next 15 minutes, failing to find touch with several kicks down field, they presented Oadby/Wyggs with the ball. The try of the day came when they put the ball through their backs and went across field for Jack Boothby to score in the corner.
The meltdown continued with scores by number 8 Arthur Redfern, son of the said Mr and Mrs Redfern of book giving fame.Who crashed over to score taking several Belgrave players with him and a second for Bryn Bolton-Waugh.With points added from the boot of Jack Elliot.
Belgrave now found themselves 28 points to 6 down.Having stopped the meltdown they came back into the game, but left themselves a mountain to climb .
Belgrave took the game to Oadby/Wyggs and spent the rest of the game camped inside their 22 yard line, there was a consolation try for Elliott Walker making the final score Oadby/Wyggs 28 Belgrave 11.
The ladies of the kitchen again in fine form, with the sausage, beans and chips of a high standard as usual.A steady walk to the Tom Hoskins with Monty to find the usual suspects Messrs Peake,Hunter T and the dreaded Austin family.Ben not at his best following the 2s result. Not one allegation from a Hollywood star of unwanted sexual advances against any of us.Had to leave before 10 as Monty had to go to bed.
Next week an away fixture at Oakham with a 2.15 kick off.See you there.
