Written by a man back by popular demand by some people, assisted by Karolina on photos and The Wilkinson family on the fashion front, plus the usual suspects.

Today a home fixture against Derby RFC,the match official for the day Mr Andrew Forsythe (as in the Saga)one there for the older supporter.A member of the legal profession from Burbage.
On the kick off Belgrave defended the clubhouse end,for the first 30 minutes Derby were camped in the Belgrave half putting their line under pressure, the Belgrave line held.On 35 minutes Belgrave mounted their first attack and got to the Derby 5yard line,Derby then recovered the ball and went the length of the pitch for Andy Brown to cross the try line, they then scored again through Callum Jones on a 5 yard run.Half time saw Derby in the lead by 12 points to Belgraves 0.
Comment must be made on Millie Wilkinsons choice of matchday hat,I shall report further on any different styles worn during the season, who knows she may become a trend setter. Also present at the game the usual suspects from Cropston Cricket Club, scorer Tom Hunter and umpire Frank Peake.
The second half began and Belgrave pulled level through scores by Mark Deaville and Luke(gutty)Gutteridge but Derby stepped up a gear and scored through Callum Jones for his second score and Josh McCallian for a bonus point try.Belgrave competed to the end but were unable to penetrate the Derby defence.Final score Belgrave 12 Derby 26.A hard fought game with both teams giving their all.The sausage, beans and chips up to the usual pre covid standard. The ladies of the kitchen maintaining their high standards.
A trip to The Tom Hoskins on the return home.A dire situation was developing the Austin Brothers and Callum(wheres me boots)Hollis better known as Cheese were stranded at The City football no ubers to be had and they were having to walk back, what perils might befall them .An emergency meeting was called with Mark Austin,Tom Hunter,Frank Peake,Mick from up the road and myself of course.Emergency services were being called out
On arrival at the Hoskins having walked a total of one point four miles and looking like they had been on Napoleons retreat from Moscow in 1812,all was safe.So normal service is resumed.
Next Saturday 2nd October is the 100th anniversry of the founding of Cropston Cricket Club,a dinner will be held at Grace Road ground tickets £50 including wine,4 course meal and a guest test match speaker.Security by the Austin Brothers. Please contact me if you require a ticket, thank you.
