As reported by a man with a new TIVO,but lost all his films.

My first task of the day before making my way to the ground for the visit of Derby RFC was to contact LRI casualty. This being to put them on standby in the fracture clinic as Ivan(evergreen)Wright was starting to collect annual subs and failure to pay can result in dire consequences.
As can be seen from the title my TIVO gave up the ghost and having a new one resulted in the loss of my bank of old films mainly in black and white but some in colour,so I was somewhat sad.But on arrival at the ground I found the art of film making is not dead. There was Aimee Jepson from Derby to record the game. Her favourite film is "Love Actually" written and directed by Richard Curtis and in colour. One there for Mooney.
The match official for the day was Mr John Hill from Melton. The Belgrave team was somewhat understrength due to injuries and several players were playing out of position from their usual roles.Dave Towl made a comeback as hooker due to the state of the injury list you could hear the joints creak on Red Hill Circle during the warm up,well done Dave, hows the body holding up.
Derby took the lead after 8 minutes with a penalty,Belgrave then gave the ball up which led to a Derby pushover try.Derby 10 points Belgrave nil.Sean(quickthinking)Kyle then put Belgrave onto the attack with a quick run and one of his dummies which put the Derby defence on the back foot. The ball then came to the human wrecking ball Josh Jones who powered up the middle passed the ball to Kevin(Bungle)Curtis who scored under the posts.
Belgrave continued to attack and had a try disallowed for a penalty,Derby then went the length of the pitch to score.Prior to the end of the half Derby had 2 players in the sin bin,Belgrave failed to take advantage of the situation and at the half Derby led 15 points to 7.
For the start of the second half Derby were still down to 13 players and both teams cancelled each other out in midfield, play being rather scrappy.Getting back to 15 players Derby scored with number 11 Sanjay Sharma out pacing the Belgrave defence. Belgrave struck back with a pushover try and the game was in the balance.A penalty for Derby gave them the lead 23 points to 12 with the game clock running down.
With little time left in the game Belgrave went in search of a losing bonus point. From the 22 yard line Jack Kyle kicked over the top and Kevin Curtis ran through caught the ball and went onto score. He duly converted making the final score Derby 23 Belgrave 19.
A well contested game with both teams giving their all and keeping the large crowd entertained.Yet again Mrs Kyle and Mrs Regan kept up their high standards in the kitchen with a spag bog and pasta.I have been informed that the sausage, chips and beans are on order for when the weather gets cold.
After the match info from coach Regan "The train is on the move" from Ivan over £400 collected in subs and from from the LRI no admissions to the fracture clinic. Its suprising what fear will do .
Next week a trip to Huntingdon next to the racecourse and talking of racing just off to watch the racing from Longchamp in Paris where 2 of our regular followers Frank Peake and Tom(statto)Hunter have gone, thought I might spot them complaining about the price of the beer.See you next week.
