The blackout card which was provided to support the Stars Appeal, which is the Salisbury Hospital's charity, was a quick and big success.
40 teams were chosen at a cost of £5 per team. Overall £200 was raised by this single card, with the winner claiming half and the other half donated to the Stars Appeal.
The winning team selected was Coventry City and the lucky winner of £100 is Dan Newman, the newly installed Downton FC Chairman. In a fantastic act of goodwill, Dan has also donated his winning to the Stars Appeal, meaning the full £200 has been donated to this fantastic charity...... furthermore another £50 has been donated in the form of gift aid.
Although this is only a small donation, we hope that this amount will help the charity on its' way to raising further money in support of the enhancement of care across the hospitals wards.
Thanks again to Dan and everyone who supported this small venture.
