Get Set Weekend

The 2025 Season is nearly Upon Us, time to get ready for a Great Season, perhaps our best yet!

Get Set Weekend 5th and 6th April

The Get Set Weekend, or the working weekend, has for many years been a pre-season focal point for the club to prepare itself for another season, this is taking place on 5th & 6th April 2025. The sun is set to shine brightly over our beloved cricket ground once again!

Get Set Weekend 2025 is approaching fast, and we couldn't be more excited! This isn't just any event—it's a celebration of our cricket club, our passion for cricket, and the friendships that make our club a second home. Why is this weekend important, First and foremost, it sets the stage for success. A well-maintained club not only reflects our commitment to excellence but also enhances the overall experience for players and spectators alike. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a fresh face, your contribution during Get Set Weekend ensures that our club shines bright when it's time to play.

But to make this weekend truly work, we need YOU.

At Bentley Cricket Club, every member is a vital cog that makes us unique, your skills, enthusiasm, and love for the club. Get Set Weekend is our chance to showcase the spirit of our club, and your involvement will make all the difference.

How You Can Get Involved

  • Turn up at 10am on Saturday 5th or Sunday 6th April
  • Bring whatever Gardening, Building, Painting equipment or tools you might have
  • Bring Friends and Family

As always there is a long list of things we want to achieve:-

  • Put the sheets and hoses on the covers
  • Tidy the Clubhouse
  • Weed the patio
  • Deep Clean the Changing Rooms and showers
  • Clear out Umpires Room
  • Ensure the Scoreboard is working along with the iPads and scoring equipment
  • Replace and repair any broken equipment as we go
  • Put the netting back on the net frames
  • Weeding and planting around the ground
  • Weeding the nets
  • Painting or assembling the sight screens
  • Tidying the Ground Shed and get rid of anything not needed
  • Strimming and Grass cutting where required

But Get Set Weekend isn't just about ticking off tasks from a to-do list – it's about coming together as a community. It's a time to bond over shared goals and aspirations, forging friendships that extend beyond the boundary lines.
