Our second game of the season, having lost the first to Writtle, was a thriller.
We were away at Herongate.....although due to the traffic we were luck to get there at all !
We batted first. Herongate bowled well and looked like we were in for a tough evening. We were 20 for 3 after 6 overs. However, Tim Mason 20 and Seb Margiotta (37) started the fightback.
A good finish to the innings Harry pain not out 13 and Callum Smith not out 7, saw us reach a creditable 108 for 6.
Herongate is a pretty, but small ground and I thought this might be still be a difficult total to defend.
However, we bowled very well.
We used 8 bowlers and nobody let us down. Herongate were 47 for 4 at the half way stage and looked like they would have to do something exceptional to reach our total. They batted well but could only reach 101, with Olly Margiotta (3 overs 1 wicket 11 runs ) bowling the last over and securing victory.
The pick of the bowlers was Callum Darby with 3 overs 2 wickets for 23 runs and Seb Margiotta who bowled 3 overs for just 4 runs
Well done boys and girl !!!!!!!!!
