U11 Arrows conclude their League Fixtures with a defeat

Bentley 229 / 11 Maldon 313 / 6 Bentley lost by 84 runs.

Within the summer holiday period fielding a full strength side to challenge a strong Maldon side was going to be difficult. From the whole U11 squad we just managed to compile 10 players of various abilities but we fielded a full team so a big thank you to all those who took part.
Bentley won the toss and elected to field first. 34 extras were given away but this could only be expected due to the strength of the side. With Abi, Ben Hawker and Zac playing up it was great to see these players each bowling one of the opposition out. Catches were also attributed to Zac and Jude. A few fielding errors cost us 3 fours but overall the fielding was good. Maldon were a good batting side with every one of their side contributing 4 or more runs from the bat. Maldon were keen to run between the wickets at every opportunity. All of our team, with the exception of our wicket keeper, Jake, had at least 2 overs.
Chasing a score of 313 was a challenge but the Bentley team was up for the challenge. Batting partnerships were juggled around to ensure we had a mixture of abilities within each pair and having Ben and Jude as the openers was always going to be interesting. We did lose a number wickets but this was mainly due to the Bentley trying their best to push the score up and taking a few chances. Maldon gave away 37 extras but some fine catches, a couple of bad calls between the wickets and accurate bowling contributed to the 11 wickets taken. What was pleasing was all our players never dropped their heads and were always trying their best. The only person not to get out was Ben Hawker however he faced only a few balls due to Harry working overtime within this partnership.

Ben 14 runs scored but lost 2 wickets
Sam 10 runs scored but lost 2 wickets.
Abi’s bowling 7 runs for 1 wicket off 2 overs and one no ball

This was our last Arrows league fixture which resulted in 3 wins and 4 losses.
