Recent signing for Berkhamsted, Alie Bangura, was proving a handful and he had shots blocked, a header wide and was off target with his best chance. He also provided the cross for Lewis Toomey to put the Comrades ahead against his old club in the first half at the railway end. Xavi again made some good saves for Berko, who looked good value for their lead.
Karl Cunningham equalised in the last minute of normal time with a shot from 18 yards for a side one division above Berko.

On Tuesday night Berko go to MK Irish who use the old Manor Fields ground in Fenny Stratford and are two divisions below The Comrades.
On Saturday Berko go to Crawley Green for a first team friendly. This continues the build-up for the Emirates FA Cup tie away to whoever wins on 1 September between Cribbs and Newent Town. Cribbs are one division below Berko and play in the Western League. Newent are from two divisions below Berko and play in the Hellenic League division 1 West.
The new season fixture list is out and Berko’s Southern League division 1 central season will start with a home game on 19th September against North Leigh.

Berko’s other sides with weekend friendlies did well. The under 18s won 5-1 at Harpenden on Saturday morning. The goals were shared around, coming from James Hutchins, Dillon Hemington, , Fraser Bryden, James Tabor and Kieron Patterson. They also won 6-0 against Kings Sports in the week with James Tabor notching a hat trick, and Dillon Hemington, Fraser Bryden and Jacob Wylde also netting goals. The under 14s drew 2-2 at home to Codicote with Charlie Bradshaw and Tio Enaide getting the goals for Berko’s youngest team.
In midweek, Berkhamsted Comrades won 2-1 at Bovingdon Reserves with Ben Wootton getting two goals and a first team squad call up for the following night. On Tuesday evening the Berko Comrades side will be at home to Chalfont St Peter in a friendly. It has been confirmed that their league season will start on Saturday 19th September with a short trip to play Tring Corinthians in Spartan South Midlands division 2.
