Berkshire's highest partnership was 85 for the fourth wicket by Carter and Lincoln, while the pick of the Beds bowlers was Tom Brett with 10-0-31-2.
The home side had 103 on the board before losing their second wicket but then fell some way behind the required run-rate. However, that was improved dramatically when Matt Coles smacked 42 from only 17 balls, hitting three fours and four maximums, Henry Warren crashed 20 off nine and Matt Taylor 34 from as many balls. They took 21 runs (6,6,4,1,2,2) off the 48th over bowled by Max Uttley.
Ten runs were required off the final over of the match and six off the last ball, but Andy Rishton conceded only five singles and Al Mahmud Hasan drew a blank off the other.
