Berkshire open their defence of the Unicorns Championship by playing Oxfordshire at Wargrave CC in a three-day game, starting on Sunday (11am). They recently defeated their neighbours in the T20 competition at Falkland.
Berkshire won the group while Oxon finished bottom after failing to win any of their eight games. Berkshire have not lost a championship game in the last three seasons.
The team shows several changes due to the fact Middlesex 2nds (Jack Davies and Ethan Bamber) also playing next week, as are Hampshire 2nds (Euan Woods) while Tom Nugent has work commitments.
Former Finchampstead paceman Callum Gregory, who is on Gloucestershire's books, will be making his first championship appearance since July 2015 when he played against Devon at Finchampstead, having made his debut against the same county at Exmouth the previous year.
This week, the 21-year-old from Reading was in the Gloucs side that won a high-scoring game by three wickets against Kent 2nds, taking 1-92 off 17 overs in the first innings and 1-10 off three in the second innings.
Left-handed batsman Brandon Gilmour, born in Zimbabwe, played for Berkshire in the T20 matches against Buckinghamshire last month, having come up through the county's junior ranks. He has played for Gloucestershire 2nds, but more recently turned out for Sussex 2nds, including one game against Middx 2nds.
Michael Williams, Henley 1st X's talented young wicketkeeper, is included in the Berkshire 12 named by head coach Tom Lambert although Datchet keeper Joe Thomas is expected to don the gloves against Oxfordshire.
Andy Rishton was part of the Loughborough MCCU team that lost to Durham MCCU in the MCCU Challenge Final at Lord's on Wednesday.
He took 2-46 (both wickets in the same over) off 10 overs as Durham were bowled out for 213 but made only four before being stumped in Loughborough's reply of 170.
