A new initiative from Berwick Rugby Club, we will now celebrate our players each month during the course of the rugby season. February's winners have shown incredible commitment, attitude, and impact on and off the pitch. We, as a club, couldn’t be prouder.
From their coaches...
Damon Dobson – U15s
Damon has grown into a remarkable young leader and a potential future coach within our mini rugby section. He helps with training every week and consistently shows maturity far beyond his years. After a tough defeat to Berwick U14s, he instinctively gathered the Dalkeith U14s boys into a huddle and delivered an inspiring message about resilience, teamwork, and pride — lifting the whole squad.
On the pitch, he’s a game‑changer at full back, turning defence into attack with crucial runs and regular tries. Damon strengthens the team every single week.
Cody Leighton – Colts
Cody has gone from strength to strength this season. His line‑out throwing has become a real weapon for the Colts — accurate, reliable, and hugely valuable. His attitude is exceptional: he trains at 110%, listens, works hard, and always shows respect to coaches, referees, opponents, and teammates. Cody is a fine young man and a brilliant role model for the club.
Harris Wood – U14s
A relative newcomer to rugby, Harris is in his first full season — but you’d never guess it. His attitude is outstanding, he’s fearless on the pitch, and he pushes himself to give 110% every time. He takes feedback on board and returns the next week showing immediate improvement. Harris has serious potential and a bright future ahead of him within BRFC and the sport as a whole. He's a pleasure to coach.
