The Berwick U15 squad embodies everything the RFU’s rugby and community fundamentals stand for. teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship. Week after week, this group of young players demonstrates remarkable spirit, commitment and togetherness, often in circumstances that would test far more experienced teams.

With the majority of fixtures played away from home due to many clubs being unwilling to travel to Scremerston, these players consistently rise to the challenge. They travel without complaint, compete with pride, and show resilience that belies their age. Even in defeat, they refuse to fold fighting back, closing points gaps, and displaying the grit and determination that defines true rugby character. Their development is visible every single week, with individual talent flourishing inside a collective that always puts the team first.

What truly sets this squad apart, however, is their contribution beyond their own age group. Every Sunday morning often in freezing, wet and windy conditions four or five of these U15 players volunteer to help coach the BRFC Minis (P1–3). While most teenagers are still asleep, these young role models are on the pitch giving back to the club and community that shaped them. They do it not for praise, but for the love of the game and the joy of helping the next generation. Their enthusiasm, patience and leadership show the makings of future coaches and lifelong ambassadors for rugby.
