The Bears eventually got there season underway with a very close home game against Sunderland probably our closest rivals in our league. The Game started with uncontested scrums due to missing from row players. Probably a first for this league where teams usually have more props than a tin mine.
A closely contested encounter littered with mistakes and some excellent rugby by both teams ended in a close 10-12 victory for the visitors.
Despite the narrow loss there was good news for the Bears as there were some new faces and some old faces making their season’s debut for the Bears. We hope to see you all back many times this season. All in all a great building block to regular Saturday action for the Bears.
The Bears are at home again this week and take on Medicals as part of our Ladies Day.
