The Seconds welcomed their friends Duns to a bright sunny Scremerston. Playing with the wind the Seconds opened the scoring with an Alex Frost pickup at 8 supported by Paul Pringle and Alan Middleton which gave Craig Dunse the opening score.
The second unconverted try came when Dunse broke through and layed off the ball to Pringle. There were no more scores in the first half so the HT socre was 10-0 to the Seconds.
Against the wind Berwick added two tries- a pick up from 8 by Pringle and a break through the middle by Liam Scott both unconverted.
Duns added a well worked converted try to close the gap to 20-7.But Paul Pringle added his hat-trick from a lineout drive before Duns also replied with an unconverted try. Berwick had the last word when Liam Scott added his second try with another sniping break just before full time.
We are grateful to Duns for playing this fixture as it means that both sides were able to field a second team and it gets the lads playing week in week out. We look forward to playing a return fixture later in the season. but next week it is away to Morpeth.
