Bexhill got off the worst start when an error from Michelle Compton gifted Oakwood a close range effort that was neatly tucked away 4 minutes in. United were lucky not to concede again in the first half as Oakwood enjoyed a number of attacking efforts and possession with limited reply.
The second half started much as the first, Stevie Robertson handled in the box 3 minutes in and the hosts were duly awarded a penalty. Oakwood added a third from a corner and wrapped up the tie after being awarded another penalty when Erszi Jacobs was adjudged to have mistimed her tackle. Despite the result being confirmed, United worked hard to the final whistle and added a consolation goal via a Compton penalty which was awarded as a result of a handball from a Georgia Payne cross.
Next week Bexhill travel to Cray Valley in the second round of the league cup.
