ROBINS REVIEW!

ROBINS REVIEW!

Tristan Bannister6 Oct 2022 - 19:01

We take a look at how our teams got on last weekend and the fixtures for this coming weekend.

Our new Under 18's side hit 4 away from home again with a fine win at Tedburn St Mary on Sunday. Goals from Rafe Barnes (2), Evan Suggate and Archie Holloway. Assistant boss Elliott Waldron gave us his report...

'Another great performance from all the lads away at Tedburn st Mary. We came out of the blocks straight from the first whistle & were 2 nil up in 18 minutes. We dominated the first half but couldn’t get that third goal. In the second half the lads were playing some good football & with in 10 to 15 minutes we were 3 nil up then 4. For our second league fixture away in a row with a 4:0 win and another clean sheet it is a great start from the yiung lads. This Sunday we have our first home game of the season against Ilfracombe u18s which I’m sure will be a cracking game. 2pm KO at The Sports Ground. Come down and cheer on the lads. Myself and all the lads would like to wish Manager Dan Barnes a very happy 40th birthday which is this coming Saturday'

Our Men's Reserves beat Awliscombe United of the Devon & Exeter League 1-0 at The Sports Ground on Saturday in the A&S Paving Intermediate County Cup.

Manager Adam Northmore gave this summary..
'A much better performance yesterday and showed our capabilities. Shame we still lack that cutting edge when we are creating the chances, it will come! Our goal coming from a (Isaac) Reevesy bullet header. On to the next round...'

There was no game for our Men's 3rds.

Our Women made the long trip to Budleigh Salterton on Sunday and unfortunately lost 4-1. The Robins goal was scored by Emma Stoneman.

Our Men's 1st team secured a very useful point with another late Craig Duff goal away at Larkhall Athletic. Watch the highlights on our YouTube Channel. https://youtu.be/kOBP_iacDxc

This weekend there are no games for our Men's 1sts and Reserves.

Our Men's 3rds are away to Morwenstow on Saturday 2.30pm KO.

On Sunday our Women are on the road again, this time to Activate Ladies. 2.30pm KO.

The only game at The Sports Ground is a massive one (as mentioned above) ..

Bideford AFC Under 18s Vs Ilfracombe Town Under 18s. 2pm KO. Free Entry.

It's our young lads Home competitive debut so please do come and give them your support.

As always... we wish all those representing The Robins this weekend the best of luck and a very happy 40th to Dan Barnes!
