After securing their first win of the season against Wantage Town, Bideford now make the relatively short trip up the M5 to Bridgwater Town on Tuesday night hoping to build on that result.
It will be the first competitive match between the sides for almost four years when a 1-1 draw in the Southern League Cup at Fairfax Park ended with a penalty shootout victory for the home side. The only other fixture since then was a pre-season friendly in 2015 which Bridgwater won 2-0. After finishing last season in 19th place, Somerset's Robins will be looking for a much healthier league position this time around although they have only taken a point from their first three fixtures. A narrow 1-0 loss in their opener at home to North Leigh was followed by a 2-2 away to Larkhall Athletic before they went down 6-0 at title favourites Hereford last Saturday.
Despite a shaky start against Wantage Town, Devon's Robins will feel much better after getting off the mark for the season and will be hoping to build on what was a much improved second half performance. A win at Bridgwater will not be easy to come by and Bideford will need to be prepared to battle for everything once again on Tuesday night.
