A Brief History of Swindon Supermarine
Swindon Supermarine were formed in 1992 as a merger between Swindon Athletic and Supermarine FC. Supermarine FC were established in 1946 and Swindon Athletic in 1968. Swindon Supermarine took Athletic's place in the Hellenic League Premier Division and in 1997/98 they were crowned Hellenic League Champions but were not promoted due to ground requirements. They were champions once again in 2000/01 and this time were promoted to the Southern League Western Division. Supermarine struggled near the bottom of the division for the next four seasons but in 2005/06 they finished 5th. Qualifying for the play-offs they were beaten in the semi final by Hemel Hempstead. A season later they went one better and finished fourth. This time they were successful in the play-offs beating Burnham and Taunton to be promoted to the Southern League Premier Division. After five seasons in the Premier Division they were relegated to Division One South & West in 2011/12. Supermarine have finished in the play-off positions in three of the last four seasons but have lost at the semi final stage on each occasion, twice to Merthyr and once to Taunton.

Form Guide
After suffering three straight defeats to Bishop's Cleeve, Salisbury and Hereford, Swindon Supermarine have roared back into form with four wins on the bounce in all competitions. The most impressive of which was a 5-0 drubbing of fellow play-off hopefuls Mangotsfield United on Tuesday night. Supermarine now sit 6th in the division (W18 D7 L9) and five points off the play-off positions.

After a really inconsistent first half of the season Bideford have now gone nine games unbeaten in the league after a highly creditable draw against champions-elect Hereford. The Robins have also managed to keep clean sheets in six of those games. The game against Swindon Supermarine back in November at the Sports Ground was arguably Bideford's best all round performance of the season. The Robins ran out 4-0 winners thanks to a Will Richards' hat trick and an own goal. Bideford are 8th in the division (W15 D9 L10), seven points and two places below Supermarine.
