BIGGLESWADE TOWN 0 v RUSHALL OLYMPIC 1 Report by Mike Draxler

The last game of the season and nothing to play for except pride, saw a match affected by Hurricane Hannah. The chilly wind blew and both sides looked like they were at the end of the campaign. The only goal and one of very few chances came at 72 from Sam Whittal, a header at the back post after the ball had come back off the bar. A credible 7th place in the new Southern Premier central division, equalling the Waders highest ever league position.

The day was more about the presentation evening that followed. Lee Allinson as he does leading with words of encouragement to all for the 2019/20 season. Lee described the Waders as a "project" a work in progress. The bar has been set high but, and there is always a but, next season will see the Waders push on to greater heights. This season has not been shabby, 7th spot in the new division, Beds senior cup winners and an FA trophy 2nd round proper against Fylde, who are in the final in a few weeks.

The whole team and in that I include the off pitch boys and girls have worked hard to support this emerging team.

Enjoy your summer. The Waders will be back in July for pre-season friendlies which I can promise will bring some big teams to the Langford Road.
