Biggleswade Town secured a well-earned point on the road in a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Redditch United. Both teams found the back of the net from the penalty spot, with Louis Yamfam coolly converting for Biggleswade in the first half before Johnny Johnston equalized for the hosts in the second.

Goalkeeper Jack Berman was the standout performer for the Waders, delivering a masterclass between the posts to frustrate Redditch’s attack throughout the match.

The game started with Redditch showing intent, but Biggleswade’s defence held firm. Berman showcased his quality early, blocking a dangerous effort from Alex Cameron and keeping out a deflected shot from Johnston that rattled the crossbar. An injury to Redditch captain Kyle Rowley brought a pause in play, but Biggleswade remained focused.

The breakthrough came just before halftime when Yamfam stepped up to calmly convert a penalty, giving Biggleswade a crucial lead despite the home side’s pressure.

After the break, Redditch upped the tempo, and a contentious penalty allowed Johnston to bring the scores level. The hosts pressed for a winner, but Berman and the Waders’ backline stood resolute. Berman’s remarkable reflexes denied a close-range effort from Cameron, while Johnston’s curling shot late on drifted narrowly wide.

Biggleswade’s determination and defensive solidity shone through in the final moments, with Berman pulling off a crucial save to stop Max Ram’s header and ensure a share of the spoils.

The Waders can take pride in a gritty display that earned them a point against a strong Redditch side.
