First league match underway...

With over a months preparation for the Bulls first game of the season, a mixture of nerves and excitement was felt throughout the whole team in anticipation of this match.

With over 20 players unavailable to the Bulls, an unfamiliar lineup to kick off this seasons campaign.

Jaonson Sissons, Martin Farrell, Peter Warrington, Stuart Heggs, Tonga Ansó and Matt Kamen all making their debuts (playing their first ever rugby match!)

Due to a freak high scoring match, it is extremely difficult to go into detail of what happened.

The Bulls, led by new Captain Andy Tsui, dominated right from the off. Quick recycling play from the forwards, and quick hands along with strong running from the backs gave the Bulls plenty of possession, and plenty of opportunities to put into practice what was learnt at training.

The forwards dominated the scrums, and kept possession through some very tidy lineouts, and Michael Dance bossed the backs to maintain a very good disciplined backline.

The back row trio of Ashley Baldry, Thomas Caswell and Deonnis Vedernikov were all over the pitch winning loose balls, and showing effective support play, scoring 4 tries between them.

The 9-10-12 combo of Andy Tsui, Michael Dance and Ian Thomas were communicating well, and scored a hattrick each.

Man of the Match was the Bulls little Scrumdog/Ninja Sam Hossain who picked up 2 tries from full back, and gave the team a quick counter attacking option.

Huge shoutout to;
- our supporters who made the trip down to cheer on the team
- the Lions who gave us a very good game despite lacking their usual numbers,
- our 6 newbies for getting stuck in, and showing that lack of experience can be made up for with heart and effort
- to all players that put on a lions shirt for a half . You guys worked your socks off, and made no complaints, and played for two teams in one match!

Well done guys, and keep working hard at training.
