Bees got back to winning ways at Portway with an outstanding performance, getting the better of their opponents, managing the difficult conditions. With the wind on their backs in the first half Bees kept Lichfield in their own half with excellent pressure that forced errors from the visitors. Tries came from scrum half Joe Rogers, hooker Vogan McKay and prop Dan Clare, two of which were converted. To their credit Lichfields only foray into the Bees half led to a well taken try that was converted. The second half saw the home side quickly extended their lead. Some clever kicking saw good territory gained with tries from second row Andrew Ross and No 8 Joe Davies after two fine breaks from centre and captain Alex Groves. Fellow centre James Agnew added his third conversion. At 31-7 all seemed comfortable but Lichfield had other ideas and their three tries, two of which were converted led to a nervous last 8 minutes for the home side but with increased resilience in defence Bees hung on for a famous win
