There was a first appearance in the red and black for Billy Bentley who fitted straight into the side.
Both sides found it difficult to handle the ball during the first half, however with credit to them they did manage to still provide some good movement. In the first half Verne found his way over the line after a nice side step created the gap to dart through. Brandon also managed to get over the whitewash for a text book try when he evaded several defenders. Thomas kicked one of the two conversions.
In the second half the game settled down and both sides found the conditions more adaptable, albeit becoming tired towards the back end of the game. Birstall scored one try during the second half through Harry A, who picked the ball up at marker and ran in from around 30 meters out. Thomas kicked the conversion.
