Significantly Improved performance sees Cleeve Ladies into County Cup 1/4 finals.

What a difference seven days can make… after a wretched performance last Sunday Cleeve Ladies found their passing and moving range this.

Cleeve started brightly and took the lead on 3 mins when a shot from Lucie Crashed against the bar and bounced over the line.
With players playing in new positions we took a bit of time to find our rythym but then we started to move the ball quicker, switched play and kept the ball really well. Possession dominance was rewarded on 27 mins when Saffi rifled in fine shot from distance.
HT 0-2.
The second half followed a similar pattern to the first with Cleeve moving the ball well and creating chances. Jess Stirling continued to make pacy surging runs and was rewarded on 50 mins when she latched onto and finished a through ball - 3-0. Cleeve somehow failed to capitalise on the numerous opportunities created until Molly Winter hit a unstoppable shot from the edge of the box to make it 4-0 on 76 mins.
FT 4-0

A chalk and cheese performance from last week. There were a lot of good performances this week unlike last …..and this was reflected in the Player of the Match votes at the end of the game. Ella Shape, playing in her new right back slot, took the honours……with one of her crosses described as Beckhamess!

The draw for the County Cup 1/4 final draw looks like this…….some tough old teams left on the competition…!!

Tuffley Rovers v Forest Green Rovers

Downend Flyers Firsts v Cleeve Ladies

Frampton v Pucklechurch

St Vallier Ladies v AEK Boko

Attention now turns to the LeaGue Cup next next week when we welcome Stoke Lane Ladies to Kayte Lane.
