Cleeve Ladies 3 - 5 Whitchurch Sports Ladies

Another tough afternoon of self discovery for the new look Cleeve Ladies Football team….

A calamatous start after 2 mins when we gifted Whitchurch with the first goal. Poor defending and lack of tracking led the the second. A third on 30 mins and Cleeve were up against it.

HT: 0-3

Although down by 3 playing with the wind would help I the second half if we could show some desire and passion. The talk at half time focussed on trying not the be negative but to focus on the positives. If we could show some urgency and compete the game was still there for both teams.

The positivity was short lived when we conceded after 60 seconds. 0-4. A fifth 10 mins later made it 0-5.

We reduced the arrears by one when a shot from Leonie went straight through the Whitchurch Keeper A well hit shot from Leonie 5 mins later reduced the arrears to 3… come back was on. Cora made it three with 3 mins to go,.,. But it was too little too late.

We hope that the Whitchurch player who suffered a leg injury and was taken to hospital in the second half is ok. We wish her a speedy recovery.
