Bishops Cleeve Ladies are back on the road this weekend as they travel to Bristol to face Southmead on Sunday.
Their last game, a home fixture against Gloucester-based Longlevens, was another success, with their 5-2 win making it seven in a row.
A brace from Leonie Gough and a goal each from Nia Geary-Andrews, Immy O’Brien and Jess Stirling secured the three points, with the visitors’ goals coming from Lucy Dannatt and Isobel Kester.
Geary-Andrews' strike took her up to six Mitres goals in as many games; she’s been a great addition to Chris Gough’s side.
Southmead’s most impressive game this season has no doubt been their League Cup win over Cinderford, a tie that saw them score 14 goals away from home to no response.
Sophia Busche netted five, Dara Austin bagged a hat-trick and Paige Morgan Sawyer and Alyshia Reed both grabbed a brace.
They were less successful in their first and last County Cup game of the season, as they were knocked out by Olveston United with a 3-0 defeat.
Bishops Cleeve have progressed in both competitions and will face the City of Gloucester in the League Cup in January before hosting Cirencester in the County Cup the following month.
Southmead have picked up only three points less than Cleeve so far this season, but sit a whole three places below them. The Mitres are placed third, six points off Hartpury in second and nine off Bristol Brunel at the top.
Kick-off on Sunday is at 2pm, and the game is being played at Pen Park Sports Ground.
