Leroy Odiero silences the lambs in 4-2 win over Tavistock AFC

Both of Odiero’s goal came from corners as Harrison Reeves managed to find the towering defender twice within 5 minutes.

League top scorer Liam Prynn scored both of Tavistock’s goals. While Ross Langworthy and Joseph Selman bagged Cleeve’s others.

Tavistock started well in an dominate first half. With Lewis Clayton being tested as early as the first minute, on a shot he deflected onto the bar, it seemed only a matter a time before the Lambs were going to score.

So when Prynn was sent through on goal after 29 minutes, who managed to get the ball round a sweeping Clayton, it wasn’t unexpected.

The Cleeve defense continued to face a barrage of shots and chances that they just about managed to keep out. Meaning they went into the break 1-0 down.

It was the second half when the Mitres grew into the game, with a bit more confidence in defense and seeing a lot more of ball movement between players it seemed to ignite the home team.

This proved to be especially true when Toby Holland was brought on, he replaced George Box and made a instant impact.

As Selman’s goal came just a minute after. The ball was swapped between the flanks, in which the winger controlled the ball nicely, dribbled forward a little bit before tucking it directly into the bottom left corner.

Although Prynn would restore the Lambs’ lead instantaneously. As from kick off the vistors would go down the other end and get it into the back of the net. The Mitres had turned off after their goal, and produced a defensive performance which left Clayton visibly frustrated with his backline.

It was just 10 minutes later that Odiero would equalise though. As a Holland freekick would be deflected out for a corner, which Reeves whipped into the towering defender as he jumped clear of anyone else and headed it into the left hand side of the goal.

He would go on to convert another, as just 5 minutes before scored almost the exact same goal was scored again, Reeves crossed it in from a corner on the left, and Odiero managed to get a well driven header into the left of the goal.

It was then Langworthy’s turn to score as in the 83rd minute, he would take a brilliant touch on a Odiero long ball, managed to position himself to box out both of the opposition centre halves as he worked himself into the box. Before releasing a shot into the bottom left that had Joshua Oak beat.

The would be the final goal, as the Mitres mounted their comeback in their latest of league wins, as they head to Willand on Tuesday, before playing at home again next weekend.
