The hosts started brightly and Harrison Reeves, back in the starting lineup after recovering from injury, danced his way through the Evesham defence but his shot hit the side netting.
However, just a couple of minutes later, Reeves was instrumental again has he weaved his way through the defence to set up Ross Langworthy. Whilst Langworthy’s shot was saved, Ethan Dunbar reacted quickest to head the ball into the net in front of a 300 strong crowd.
Langworthy then saw his one on one shot well saved by Jack Copland minutes later before Reeves’ cross was bundled in by Jay Malshanskyj at the back post to double the Mitres’ lead.
With five minutes remaining of the half it looked like the visitors may half the deficit but a great tackle from Will Turner meant Evesham wouldn’t add to the scoresheet.
It got even better for the Mitres on the stroke of half time when Reeves intercepted a pass and drove all the way through to score and give the Mitres a 3-0 lead at half time.
The second half had less goal mouth action as Cleeve controlled the game and limited Evesham’s chances to secure a memorable win.
Cleeve’s next match is at home to Bristol Manor Farm in the FA Cup on Saturday
