The hosts nearly took the lead immediately as the broke forward however the shot was well blocked before Cleeve went up the other end and Toby Holland saw is shot easily held by the ‘keeper.

Whilst there was a lot of action there was very little that resulted in any clear cut chances for either side.

The goal that ended up deciding the game cam on the half hour as Evesham had a throw deep in the Cleeve half. The throw was pulled back to Jordy Ngathe who whipped a looped cross in and saw it go into the far top corner of the goal much to the delight of the home fans.

From the goal the home side were in the ascendancy and it was nearly two for the hosts but Amer Awadh’s shot didn’t quite dip enough and flicked off the roof of the net.

The hosts came out looking to score early in the second half with Levi Steele having a couple of chances but as the half went on it was Cleeve who started the more threatening.

However the Evesham defence remained resolute and despite their best efforts the Cleeve players couldn’t break them down to score and give them what may have been a deserved point on the balance of the game.
