There could be as many as eight new faces in the Bishop's Cleeve starting line-up for their opening Southern League Division One South and West game of the season against Marlow on Saturday.
Mitres manager Steve Cleal has made significant changes to last year's squad and after a positive pre-season there seems to be a new feel around Kayte Lane following their reprieve from relegation.
"We knew what we had to do and that's to try and improve the squad but more importantly the mindset of the squad and pre-season certainly seemed different this year.
"Pre-season results don't matter but come Saturday that's all that matters so the proof is in the pudding.
"We have a difficult start to the season with some tough games in August yet I am excited and can't wait like I'm sure every manager player and fan is in the same boat."
Cleeve have a couple of absentees from their squad for the visit of Marlow. Mike Sholly misses the game through work commitments but should be available for Tuesday's trip to Didcot Town.
Jack Oldham (back) and Dan White (shin splints) are both likely to miss at least the first week of the season although White could be missing for longer.
But with a frantic start to the season ahead, Cleal insists everyone in the squad will have a part to play.
He said: "Naturally there will be disappointed players because everyone wants to be involved in that first game of the season but only 14 or 15 can.
"Yet it only takes a couple more injuries or a suspension then all of a sudden that squad of 20 or 21 is down to 14 and that's why it's important we understand that we will play seven times in 24 days in August so not many will play every minute of every game."
