A huge clash awaits Bishops Cleeve on Tuesday night, as they will travel up to Worcestershire, taking on Malvern Town.
Cleeve dropped their first points of the season on Saturday, drawing to Bideford in a one-all draw, but the Mitres are still unbeaten in league action, winning four and drawing one.
Paul Collicut’s men are currently fourth in the league, having played five games.
From the hosts' side, the Hillsiders and Cleeve have a recent history of battles. Their last game against each other was the playoff semi-final. Which saw Malvern come out on top as 3-2 winners in extra time.
They were unable to get that eventual promotion, however, losing 1-0 to Evesham and having to settle for another season in the Southern League Division One South.
The Hillsiders had a change in managers over the summer, with Stephen Cleal being relieved and Lee Hooper taking over sole responsibility as the first team manager.
They also lost a lot of key players, including three of them to Cleeve in Lewis Spurrier, Luke Payne and Jack Watts.
These departures haven’t stagnated them, however, wanting to make last season’s woes right. As they currently sit top of the table on 16 points, having played seven games, two more than what the Mitres have played in the league.
The two sides have had interesting recent battles against each other. Both sides have won two games, while there has been one draw. The Mitres won both league games last season, beating Malvern 3-0 away and 4-1 at Kayte Lane.
