Bishops Cleeve will be hoping to get back to winning ways in the league, as they take on relegation scrappers Brixham at Kayte Lane.
The Mitres went through in the GFA Senior Challenge Cup this Tuesday, as Sam Gilder’s penalty heroics put Cleeve into the semi-finals, where they will either take on Hartpury or Cheltenham Town under 21’s away.
This will be the Mitres' first league game since their 5-0 loss to Portishead almost two weeks ago, as their game against Falmouth was called off due to heavy rainfall.
Cleeve have also recently welcomed new signing Devanti Mclnerney, who joined the ranks from Melksham Town last week. The forward got his first start for the Mitres against Bristol Rovers under 21’s.
Paul Collicutt’s newest addition is feeling “good” going into Saturday.
“The boys are ready to get some goals into the back of the net, and speaking to them, they’re all buzzing, so get some goals and get the winning feeling back after the loss (Portishead).”
Meanwhile, Cleeve’s latest opponents are struggling at the bottom end of the table in 16th, as the Fisherman look to climb themselves up.
Recent form has been average, as two wins, one draw and losses against Malvern and Hartpury have Brixham in a less than ideal place. The visitors also have the worst goal difference in the league, being on -21.
It’s been a tough start to life in the league for Tim Porter and Jason Couch’s side, who were promoted via the Western League playoffs last season, but they will be hoping a win here can put the confidence needed in their players to go on some sort of winning run.
