It’s a quick turnaround for Bishops Cleeve as they get ready to take on Swindon Supermarine.
The Mitres were unable to overcome relegation contenders Willand on Saturday, with Reegan Messenger’s goal not enough for the three points in Devon, as Paul Collicutt’s men had to settle for a point.
There are only three games to go with Cleeve in the mix for a playoff matchup with either Portishead or Malvern depending on their position in the league come the end of the season.
The Mitres have one game in hand over fourth place, Winchester, with a win at Supermarine, meaning Cleeve would jump over City in the table. Shaftesbury are still on Cleeve’s tail, however, with a 2-1 win over Winchester on Saturday putting them three points away from the Mitres.
Meanwhile, Cleeve opponents on Monday were stuck in a rut before a 3-0 win over relegated Tavistock got them their first win in five.
Last time out, the two sides drew for the first time ever at Kayte Lane, with Abu Bakarr Siddique Gbla scoring in the 12th minute before being cancelled out by Jack Watts in the 17th minute.
The two sides have played each other 13 times, with Supermarine winning nine times and Cleeve only managing three in that time.
