4 wins by our senior teams crown a great Saturday of cricket. Our Ladies canter to easy win on Sunday. T20 win caps great weekend.

All four teams returned full points with emphatic wins at the weekend of derby cricket.

The 1st XI returned first to Cricketfield Lane with the spoils from Sawbridgeworth. With early reports from Town Fields suggesting Sawbo had set the early pace with a 90+ opening stand in 20 overs the next news was something of a surprise. Sawbridgeworth had been bowled out for 152 with off-spinners Simon Lindop returning 5-15 and Chris Green 4-13.

Thereafter the 1st XI were seen taking in the end of the 2nd XI game at Cricketfield Lane having strolled to a win by 9 wickets with Eddie Ballard 64no and Chris Green 87no. This leaves Eddie's team well place in fourth in the Premier League table.

The 2nd XI won an entertaining game in the evening sun against West Herts 2nd XI having been put into bat and having to call on the experience of Dean Lloyd and Adrian Wacey. From the depths of being 35 for 5 there then followed a 150+ partnership. It began with caution and sound defence and as their partnership passed the century and the West Herts' heads dropped it developed into beligerent stroke play to reach maximum batting points and a total of 203 for 6. Deano finished 73no and Wacker 75.

The West Herts' reply began with an early wicket for Paul Reed and with Chris Thomas also bowling a very impressive opening spell despite his finger injury the visitors were reduced to 51 for 3.

Wickets fell regularly as Hugh Williams and Andrew O'Donovan were introduced to the attack. The West Herts lower order played their shots and it took the re-introduction of Chris Thomas to see them off with 2 late wickets with 2 overs to spare for the home side to claim all the points.

A good battling win that keeps the 2nd XI in good position in Herts Div 4. Table.

Harry Barrett's 3rd XI beat Takeley with 8 balls to spare thanks to the skipper's 77no and a six to finish in chasing down the visitor's 158 for 8. With Graeme Sumner chipping in with another 50 and a couple of wickets this was a good win for Harry's team.

The victory was set up by the bowler lead by Pete Cluderay's 10 overs for 7! The wickets were shared between Raman, Makin, Hughes and the Sumners. Well done to all.

Another skipper inspired win was the 4th XI win at Takeley where Fred Hussain's 137 help set the home team 312 to win. Fred's 150+ partnership with Clint Williams (71) put the game well beyond Takeley.

The win by 144 runs with Taz Javaid taking 4 wickets caps a great start to the season for the 4's.
