Bishop Sutton FC website caught up with first team goalkeeper Chris Manns to find out his thoughts.

Having joined the club at the start of the season, I was unsure of what to expect on the back of a previously poor campaign, but it was evident early on that progress had already been made, as I knew a few lads who had signed for the club.

It was a tricky first couple of months for us, with the gaffa having the challenge of trying to settle a very new squad amid a busy list of fixtures in August, September & October. What was clear at this stage was that we had the core of a decent team & a bunch of good lads as well.

We made steady progress leading up to the winter months & with new additions making a good impact & the squad improving as a result. December saw one of our best runs of results & I think this gave us the confidence & finally the recognition that we had deserved for a while, that we are a decent side at this level.

Since Christmas we have continued to make good progress & made some additional key signings to improve what is now, one of the best squads in the league. Results have shown that recently, with good performances against a number of the leagues topped placed sides.

Whilst we have lacked consistency at times, the squad has continued to evolve & there is no reason why we won't be more consistent next season. The strength of the squad now puts us in a great position going forward, to firstly finish the season on a high & then build on the successful campaign throughout preseason.

I am in no doubt that if we keep the majority of our squad together over the summer, we can really look to achieve something next year & I am already excited at the prospect.

I would also like to thank everyone involved at the club & our supporters for their hard work & dedication this season.
