SUTTON WIN THRILLER AS IT RAINS GOALS AT LAKEVIEW

Today, Lakeview welcomes Devizes. We can only apologise for the weather, it is teeming down and both teams look as if they have had a early shower.

15.00 match starts and within two minutes Sutton are a goal down. A great run by Devizes' Sam Dodds beats Sutton's defence without any attempt to tackle and scores their first. After goal it’s all Sutton until Devizes' Ben Tylee scores from a superb cross from the right.

Straight from the restart Sol Shearer for Sutton weaves through Devizes' defence and pulls a goal back.

It’s all Sutton again winning corners with the best chance falling to Liam Crispin in front of goal but shot is over and to the right. A succession of corners all taken by Sam Downes eventually gains a free kick but Shearer heads just over. It’s getting near half time and Liam is through on Devizes keeper Martin Mitchell and not for the first time he saves brilliantly.

15.47 half time arrives. Sutton had the best of this half but go in a goal down.

Rain eases while the teams are off and they can start with a drier and less windy half.

Second half starts with Devizes making a change, Paul Gittins goes off and Kian Fulford takes to the pitch. Sutton still on top and pressuring in midfield. Liam Crispin breaks away on Sutton's left and his cross is met by Sol Shearer for his second eight minutes into the second half.

58 mins - Sutton should be in the lead. Another Sutton corner gives Kai Long a free header but heads just wide. A good interplay between Ben Snell and Sam Downes on Sutton's right wing sees Ben put the ball right across the Devizes goal mouth but sadly no one there to convert.

Sutton playing mostly in Devizes half but a mistake in Sutton's defence has Seth Locke having to make a superb save.

63 mins- bookings for Devizes' Davin Carty and Sutton's Sam Downes after altercation as Downes tries to take a quick free kick.

With Sutton still in the other half Downes tries a long shot that only just goes over into the car park.

68 mins - Devizes make another change, Keiron Plummer makes way for Jon Woods. Two minutes later, Harry Barter who has chased all afternoon, takes a well deserved rest to allow Joel Hall, Suttons 14 to replace him.

Both teams are managing to break away and Sutton's Luke Trowbridge is booked for a trip in Sutton's half as Devizes try to get through.

78 mins - Devizes make their last substitution. Jack Sheridan comes on and Davin Carty goes off.

80 mins Sutton receive their third yellow. Sol Shearer the goal scorer is booked after the slippery pitch caused him to slide and make a clumsy tackle. He is then taken off and replaced by Ross Beazer.

Callum Baker, who has pressured Devizes defence all afternoon ,wins another free kick 18 yards out. Taken by Sam Downes but is cleared for another Sutton corner. Sent across by Sam Downes to back post and put away by Dan Spill for Sutton's third.

Devizes from the restart are forcing Sutton backwards but they are holding firm and Seth Locke has to make another great save.

Sutton take the ball into Devizes half and see the match out for a well deserved win.
