Charles joined BRUFC on leaving school in the late 1950s. He played for a short time in the junior teams, encouraging his two younger brothers to join and play.
But it was the social side of the old club house that he loved. He often told of the amazement of his young sons on seeing the after match drinking games.
Luckily halfway home they usually forgot the lyrics.
In more recent years he was regularly helped on the gate and has been an avid supporter at both home and away matches, travelling from his home in Bolton.
He rarely missed a home game.
He passed away at his sons home in Dolgellau after a short illness. A family funeral will take place in Wales.
A wake will be arranged locally. Details to follow.
