Joan, along with her husband John, were guests of honour 2 seasons ago at BRUFC Junior presentation evening where John gave a speech to the players and families about his time as President of the English RFU.

Joan was a popular figure around many Cumbrian rugby clubs in particular Penrith and Kendal. Along with John, they fostered 56 children over a 30 year period from their home in Shap, Cumbria.

Our thoughts are with John and his family at this sad time.
