For today's throwback we had a submission sent in. The photo feature takes us way back to the 1982-83 season, when Blackburn's Colts XV were enjoying a record season. Managed by the late Peter Dixon, and coached by Nick Morley, the squad featured several who are still regular faces at Ramsgreave, including Paul Westhead, Mark Bullen, Bob Lowther & Paul Heathcote. The hairlines may be a little thinner and the waistlines slightly thicker, but the friendships still endure.

The photo, provided by Hooker Paul Harling, is from January 1983, a 20-3 win against Orrell. In those days, Orrell were a major force in English Rugby, and as such, ran two Colts XV's. Earlier that season, they had fielded their "B" team against Blackburn at Edge Hall Lane, and lost 33-0 ! For the reverse fixture, they fielded their full "A" team, and in Paul's words," got mullered again"! That season's playing record read W25 D1 L5.
