As tours go, this was a doosey - 2 fantastic sunny days in a brilliant location with a phenomenal group of players and their supporters.

Day one saw us all hit the beach at Rhos on Sea for a quick paddle in shallows followed by a great captain's run. The two hours we spent there flew by - the second half of the session seeing the boy's dads rolling back the years and showing off their silky skills - aka fat old lads farting about and trying (not too hard) not to kill their offspring! with hindsight we might have/should have called it a day earlier but then we wouldn't have made so many memories!

Day two and an early start at Colwyn Bay RUFC. Some of the lads and dads wearing their forfeits from the previous night's court session looked lovely, while all looked resplendent in the welsh red tour t's. No one looked hung over at all.

Wrexham and CB took to the field first to give us a lesson in the law variations, and the excellent coaches from both clubs were helpfully chipping in with advice and comments throughout. Wrexham, two years unbeaten, had format and speed of rugby similar to ourselves and were quickly 5 or 6 tries to 0 up by half time in their match. Their level 3 ref spent the second half looking to give CB a sniff but Wrexham were way too strong. Question was who would we play first? CB were allowed to go off and lick their wounds and it was to be us v the green and red boys - might they be tired out? Might they go easy on us?

40 minutes later and we came off extremely proud and with praise ringing in our ears "toughest game all season", "can you come down and play us" - the score was approximately 6 tries to 2 but we had rattle their line a few times and were really unfortunate not to have been much closer. This is a team that does not concede - they keep a score tally in Wales and these guys have a 1000+ points difference beside their name. Specially chuffed our one and only u11 Seb W got a sweet try, while who knew Callum Red is the Ronan O'Gara of Ramsgreave. Above all this was a phenomenal team effort from the boys, but the pitch size and exuberance of the past evening was starting to show.

Next up our hosts, and a chance for our lads to have a crack at grabbing a win. Indeed, Arthur pretty much beat a tackle off all 15 of them to open the scoring, but sadly the rest of the lads were blowing badly. After a couple of easy tries against, Richard an I asked for one more supreme effort and off went MoM Tom F like a machine only to end up with a nasty gash on his eyebrow. Undaunted, he joined Aiden and Sam (self inflicted, sick note!) on the playing under the doctor (thanks Sue) while we saw out the rest of the game, being really good guests and allowing our hosts to stuff us (a bit).
