Blackburn continue to build ahead of the biggest game of the season next week.

With the sun shining and hardly a breath of wind conditions were perfect for a cracking game of rugby.
The crowd had hardly made their way onto the terrace before Blackburn ran in their first try on just 2 minutes, the first of 4 for man of the match Leon Fifield. The extras were added by Sam Morgan.
The second try came whilst the crowd had barely finished applauding the first. Returning Craig Aikman burst through to run in in the corner on 4 minutes. This time Sam Morgan missed the difficult kick from the touchline. There were rumblings from the crowd of another boring whitewash, but Heaton Moor had not come to make up the numbers.
Blackburn appeared to be standing off Heaton Moor giving them room to play and the away team were soon rewarded with a kick at the posts which they duly converted.
The next ten minutes saw Blackburn frustrated with little ball and a number of penalties given against them, but they rode the storm and on 24 minutes Leon Fifield started by hacking the ball through, then showed superb football skills to tap the ball down the wing before a clever kick inside which was picked up by the supporting Matt Hughes who ran the ball in under the posts. Sam Morgan added the extras.
On 34 minutes Leon Fifield made a storming run before pooping the ball to Sean Hall who beat his usual three men then passed back to the looping Leon who scored in the corner. Another difficult kick for Sam Morgan who unfortunately pushed it wide. Just as the half was nearly up, the ball fell to Sean Hall who made great yards in front of the club house before a nice offload to Matt Hughes who ran in his second of the day. Sam Morgan duly converted and the half was up. The score 31-3.

The second half continued with a try on 45 minutes for Leon Fifield and another 2 points for Sam Morgan. Despite the points tally building against them Heaton Moor did not give up, but Blackburn were looking dangerous every time they got the ball and with the away team tiring there was plenty of space on the pitch to attack.
On 55 minutes Heaton Moor cleared their lines only for the ball to fall to Sean Hall well in his own half. He set off with dancing feet that would have got a definite 10 from Len Goodman, and audaciously wove his way through both teams before scoring under the posts. The extras were added to make the score 45-3.
The penalty count against Blackburn made the game stutter for a while but on 75 minutes the ball passed through almost every Blackburn hand crossing the pitch twice before, guess who - Leon Fifield ran the ball past a weary opponent to score in the corner. The conversion was missed on this occasion but it would not be long before the home team had another chance.
Not to be outdone by his backs colleagues Jordan Pearson picked the ball up on the Heaton Moor 22 and using his own 'route one' dancing style muscled his way past the backmarkers to score under the posts. The conversion was the final kick of the day.

Despite the score Heaton Moor looked a far stronger team than had been suggested during the week, and we look forward to the return visit which promises to be a much closer affair.

Next week Burn travel to table toppers Leigh for what promises to be the game of the season. Despite missing out on a bonus point this week away at promotion contenders Aldwinians Leigh stay two points ahead of Burn. The team would welcome you all to join them at Leigh and support them in what could very well be the first title decider game against the unbeaten team.

Congratulations must also be passed to the second team who beat table toppers Warrington to progress into the semi-final of the cup.
