Today Burn failed to show their ability to play good rugby. The supporters were expecting some excellent play but in the main this did not happen.
From kick off there was an equal show of strength and determination from both teams. Some well worked passes and a set up by Zac Child enabled Matt Cookson to score the first try of the match; it was not converted. It was not long before Lymm countered the attack bringing the score to 7-5. Lymm remained hot on the attack and defence ripping and stealing the ball at every opportunity. Half time score 27-5.
After the half time team talk Burn appeared to be fired up and attempted to get into the game. Lewis Bromley picked up the ball from a chip over then filtered to Joshua Reilly, a pass to Zac Child gave him the opportunity to score a converted try. However, Lymm continued to thwart Burn’s defence adding score after score to the board. Adam Todd made several attempts to power over the line, there were also bursts of speed from Jamie Cairns and Lewis Bromley but all to no avail. The final score was 55-12.
