We Look at Key Performers in the Season to Date

With Saturday marking the halfway point in the season we look at how the teams are doing and who has been starring in the matches so far:

The 1s sit in 6th position following back-to-back wins over Holmesdale CC and Bromley CC. Jack Hersh has been the standout performer so far, showing great consistency in scoring his impressive 350 league runs. He sits 3rd in the KPL batting in terms of runs scored. Tanweer Sikandar (currently injured) has scored 240 and Dipayan Paul has 221. Arafat Bhuiyan and Tanweer Sikandar lead the wickets, with 14 apiece.

The 2s have a perfect '8-0' record and have won different types of matches all season. With a strong squad, the team do not have a star player but rather different performers have stepped up at various points. Rez Karim with 190, Rahi Karim (141) and Dan Rouse (134) lead the batting whilst spin trio Rez Karim (15), Tejpal Birdi (14) and James Yandell (14) are all in the top 5 bowlers in the division.

The 3s have been a bit unlucky with the weather and have had three matches abandoned. However, on the field, they are strong side who sit currently second in the division (14pts behind the leaders). Alex Price has been a consistent performer in scoring his 166 runs whilst Mitu Ahmed has managed to score 159 runs for the 3s in only 4 games. Newcomer Ben Jiggins is 4th in the league bowling with 13.

The 4s are currently 2nd bottom but also made a slow start in 2019 before finishing strongly. Peter Deal has scored runs (164) at the top of the order whilst Ed Samuel is 2nd in bowling with 16 wickets.

The 5s have also been unfortunate with games abandoned. However, they have only suffered one defeat and sit 3rd in the table with a game in hand. Their leading performers are Stuart Shanks with 89 runs and Azim Anwarul has 6 wickets - both which reflect on the lack of matches.

The 6s are 2nd in the table where 15 points separate the top 5. Jeremy Nelson has led batting with 236 whilst compatriot Brent Thomson has 205. Will Howlett (16) and James Morrison (18) are a formidable opening pair and they are the top 2 bowlers in the division.
