After last weeks' complete wash-out we were glad to get back to business even though we managed only two league wins on Saturday.
The 1s visited the Nevill Ground and came away disappointed. A 261 run partnership for the 3rd wicket put the hosts in charge. Dipayan Paul and Tanweer Sikander gave us a glimmer of hope when they were together but it was too big an ask.
The 2s wrapped up the Divisional title in style at home to Old Colfeians CC. The visitors set us a stiff target of 246 to win and we looked out of it until Rez Karim (91*) and Tejpal Birdi (38*) got together to seal the win. Earlier Mitu Ahmed made exactly 50.
The 3s had a roller-coaster ride at Bapchild CC. Dismissed for 96 batting first they pulled off a remarkable win thanks to Divwakar Misshra's 7 for 4 as Bapchild succumbed to 32 all out.
The 4s were chasing 187 to win versus Burgess Park CC at the Academy. Despite 42 from Arraf Hossein and 38 from Peter Deal we were left 31 runs short.
The 5s lost their top of the table clash with Bromley Common CC. They bowled BCCC out for a below par 130 but fell an agonising 17 runs short as the batting failed to fire.
The 6s got the wrong end of the toss as they were put in at Charlton Park. However, they should have done better than 86 all out. Old Colfeians chased with comparative ease for the loss of 4 wickets.
On Sunday the U21 beat OD CUACO thanks to 74* from Jack Hersh.
