An uninspired performance full of individual errors exposed Blackheath for the third week in a row. The tone was set early on as Oliver Robinson, Sussex All Rounder, scored 82 from 84 punishing any wayward bowling. The away side did begin to claw things back as skipper Chris Willetts bowled tightly alongside Mahi Mahfuzul. At 143-3, the bowlers could still see a way back in but dropped catches allowed Daniel Maigin the opportunity to bludgeon 89* alongside Warren Lee's 42* leading their side to 324-4 from 50 overs.
The defending champions started fairly well with Rishi Roy-Mukherjee (34) and George Wells scoring at pace. But 60-1 from 10 overs quickly turned to 96-6 thanks to an inspired bowling performance from Maigin. He took five of the top 6 wickets, taking 5-23 from 5 overs to leave the game all but over with plenty of overs to spare.
